TysonD was formed in the UK almost a decade ago to offer design services to the local UK market. Now based in New Zealand, TysonD interacts with builders and design houses throughout the world, predominantly in the luxury recreational marine industry. Several large projects and new clients have created the opening of several roles within the company, which is in a transitional stage in its development. New candidates will play a critical role in defining a culture for the company so character will be prioritised over experience.
As a Design Engineer you will be involved in a range of challenges across multiple projects. You will have proven CAD experience, ideally including Rhino3D and have worked in both 3D and 2D environments. Your daily tasks will include component design, system integration, equipment specification, tooling and machine planning, weight documentation, production of drawings and cut files. You will have worked with ISO or similar regulations in previous positions. A desire to innovate and deliver class leading solutions will be vital as some work involves high performance projects working at the forefront of technology. Projects will involve the use of composites, steel, aluminium and plastic so knowledge of a range of manufacturing techniques is essential.

Ideally you will have an interest in sailing, powerboats or similar industries like motorsport etc. The role is based in Kirwee Canterbury, however remote staff will be considered based on experience level.
